Sewer Cleaning in San Antonio, TX

All the drains running slow? Tub filling when the toilet flushes? That is the main sewer line. We go in at the cleanout and clear the whole run.

Why this happens

One pipe carries everything out of your house. When it starts to choke, the lowest drain shows it first, often a ground-floor tub, shower or laundry standpipe. Roots at the joints lead the list. Flushed wipes, grease and low spots that collect sludge follow close behind. Clearing the line gets you back in business. Knowing what caused it helps keep you there.

What our crew checks

  1. Getting in

Usually a cleanout by the foundation. Missing or buried ones we work around.

  2. Backup pattern

Which drains act up and when, to narrow the location.

  3. What we pull

Whatever rides back on the cutter tells us the cause.

  4. Footage marker

We note how far out the cable stopped, which tells a camera or a shovel where to go.

  5. Full flow check

Several toilets and tubs run together to prove it is clear.

Ways we can fix it

Option 1

Cutting head

Roots and paper in a pipe that is otherwise solid.

Option 2

High-pressure jet

Heavy grease, sludge or thick roots.

Option 3

Clear and scope

Repeat backups where you want to know if a repair is ahead.

While you wait for us

Quick tip from the crewStop all water use until we arrive, because every flush and shower makes the backup worse. Keep kids and pets clear of any sewage. Brush off the cleanout cap outside if you can find it.

Sewer Cleaning near Alamo Ranch and Westover Hills

Most of Alamo Ranch, Westover Hills and the Potranco Rd subdivisions drain into SAWS sewer through PVC laterals. Root trouble is less common than in older parts of town, but the clay can still settle a section and leave a dip that traps wipes and grease. Out past the city edge toward Castroville, some homes still drain to septic, and we clear from the house to the tank.

Sewer Cleaning FAQ

Main line or one drain: how do I tell?

Two or more fixtures backing up, or water rising in a tub when you flush, means the main.

No cleanout at my house. Now what?

We can often go in through a toilet flange, or we can add a cleanout so the next time is easier.

Which part of the sewer is mine?

Usually from the house out to where it meets the public line. SAWS handles the main under the street.
