Why this happens

Water heaters give you warning signs, if you know them. Popping and rumbling from sediment. Hot water that runs out faster. A rusty tint at the tap. Then one day the tank lets go and the garage floor is a lake. Putting in a new one means more than setting a cylinder. Gas heaters need a correct vent and a drip leg. Every heater needs a relief valve with a discharge line run somewhere safe. Most homes with a pressure regulator need an expansion tank as well.

What our crew checks

  1. Right size

Household, bathrooms and shower habits set the capacity.

  2. Flue

Vent size, slope and clearances confirmed on gas models.

  3. Power or gas

Gas line and valve, or breaker and wire size for electric.

  4. Safety parts

Relief valve, discharge pipe, pan and expansion tank.

  5. Access

Garage, closet or attic, plus a clear path for the old tank.

Ways we can fix it

Option 1

Direct swap

Same fuel, same size, existing hookups in good shape.

Option 2

Upsize

More people, more bathrooms, or a deep tub.

Option 3

Tankless switch

Wall-mounted, nonstop hot water, if gas and venting work out.

While you wait for us

Quick tip from the crewFind the gas valve or the breaker that runs the water heater. Make sure there is an open path from the heater to an outside door. A photo of the label on the old tank tells us the size and fuel before we arrive.

Out here on the west side

Water Heater Installation near Alamo Ranch and Westover Hills

Many far west side homes built in the 2000s and early 2010s still run their first or second tank, typically a 40 or 50 gallon unit in the garage. Edwards Aquifer limestone settles to the bottom of every tank and shortens its life. Flush yours once a year and think about softening, and the next heater should last noticeably longer.

Water Heater Installation FAQ

What signs say my tank is done?

Leaking at the base, rusty hot water, loud rumbling, or hot water that gives out early.

Does my house need an expansion tank?

Most likely, if there is a pressure regulator or check valve on your line. We look every time.

Can my heater go in the attic?

It can. Attic units need a pan and a drain line so a leak someday does not come through your ceiling.
