Tankless Water Heater Installation in San Antonio, TX

Tankless heaters fire up only when you open a tap and hang on the wall instead of hogging floor space. We size it, upgrade the gas and vent if needed, and add the valves that make yearly service easy.

Why this happens

With tankless, there is no stored hot water slowly cooling in a tank, and the second shower gets the same heat as the first. The trade-off is fuel. At full blast, a tankless burner gulps far more gas than a tank ever did, and an older line often cannot keep up. When we follow up on someone else's install, the usual culprits are an undersized gas line, the wrong vent pipe and no isolation valves for descaling. Install it properly and you will love it. Skimp and you get error codes.

What our crew checks

  1. Simultaneous use

How many showers and appliances run together, and how much the water must heat.

  2. Gas capacity

Line size and length from the meter, and the meter rating.

  3. Venting

The vent pipe and exit location the manufacturer calls for.

  4. Water hardness

Tested, since scale ruins more tankless units here than anything.

  5. Service valves

Installed so descaling is a quick job.

Ways we can fix it

Option 1

Convert from tank

Bigger gas line, new vent, wall mount and service valves.

Option 2

Replace old tankless

Pull the tired unit, mount a new one.

Option 3

Add a softener

Keeps scale off the heat exchanger.

While you wait for us

Quick tip from the crewSnap pictures of the existing heater, your gas meter and where gas enters the house. Count how many showers run at the same time on your busiest morning. That helps us size it on the first call.

Tankless Water Heater Installation near Alamo Ranch and Westover Hills

Lots of newer homes in Alamo Ranch, Hunters Ranch and Potranco Ranch came from the builder with a tankless already on the wall, and many have never been flushed. Our hard water lines the heat exchanger with scale until error codes start. We suggest a descale every year and, for most families, a softener. If gas or vent work needs a permit, we pull it.

Tankless Water Heater Installation FAQ

Is my gas line big enough for tankless?

Often not. We run the numbers on your meter and pipe first.

How much maintenance does tankless need?

Plan on a descale yearly in our water, or sooner without a softener.

Tank or tankless: which wins?

It comes down to your hot water habits, your gas service and your budget. We give you both sides straight.
