Water Heater Repair in San Antonio, TX

Showers gone cold, a tank that cannot keep up, a pilot that quits, or water on the garage floor. We find what failed and repair it when the tank still has years in it.

Why this happens

Plenty of no-hot-water calls end with a part swap, not a new heater. On gas models it is often the thermocouple, flame sensor, igniter or gas valve. On electric models, elements and thermostats wear out. A relief valve that keeps weeping can be a pressure problem rather than a valve problem. Rusty water can come from a worn-out anode. The tank shell itself is the exception. Once that steel rusts through, the heater has to go.

What our crew checks

  1. Leak source

We figure out if it is the tank itself or a fitting, valve or drain. Only the tank means a new heater.

  2. Gas ignition

Pilot, thermocouple and burner tested on gas units.

  3. Electric parts

Elements and thermostats metered on electric units.

  4. System pressure

Measured when a relief valve is weeping.

  5. Draft and sediment

Vent draw confirmed, plus a test flush to see how much mineral is inside.

Ways we can fix it

Option 1

Part swap

One failed part swapped on a tank that is still sound.

Option 2

Flush and service

Popping, slow recovery or sediment trouble.

Option 3

Replacement

Leaking shell, or an aging heater where repair money is wasted.

While you wait for us

Quick tip from the crewIf it is leaking, close the cold valve on top and shut off the gas or flip the breaker. If you smell gas, do not try relighting. Write down any code or blinking light.

Water Heater Repair near Alamo Ranch and Westover Hills

Hard water drives a big share of our water heater repairs on the far west side. In electric tanks, sediment buries the lower element until it fails. In gas tanks, the same layer makes the burner work harder and the tank crackle. Gas or electric, a good flush during the visit often brings back some of that lost hot water.

Water Heater Repair FAQ

What is that popping sound?

Sediment at the bottom. Water gets caught beneath it, boils and pops. Flushing usually quiets it.

My relief valve keeps dripping. Why?

Nine times out of ten it is too much pressure or a missing expansion tank. We test before replacing the valve.

Can you fix a leaking tank?

Not when the tank itself is leaking. That calls for a replacement.
