Garbage Disposal Installation in San Antonio, TX

We mount the new disposal snug to the sink, set the drain so water falls the right way, and tie it into the power you have under the counter.

Why this happens

Hanging a disposal is the easy part. Making the drain work is where it gets tricky. The outlet needs to sit higher than the drain in the wall, or water just pools. The dishwasher hose needs its knockout removed and a high loop or an air gap. The sink flange has to seal flat or it drips. We put in disposals to replace burned-out units, to step up to a stronger motor, and in kitchens that never had one.

What our crew checks

  1. Electrical

Outlet, switch or hardwire confirmed under the sink.

  2. Heights

Is the unit's outlet higher than the pipe in the wall?

  3. Dishwasher

Knockout cleared and hose routed high or to an air gap.

  4. Flange seal

Fresh flange and gasket seated flat on the sink.

  5. Leak check

Unit running with water flowing and a towel at each joint.

Ways we can fix it

Option 1

Like-for-like

Same mount and drain as the old one.

Option 2

Stronger unit

More horsepower, sometimes with minor drain changes.

Option 3

Brand new install

First disposal in the kitchen. Needs power and a well-placed drain.

While you wait for us

Quick tip from the crewCheck the cabinet for an outlet or a wire stub from the wall. No power down there? Mention it when you call so we can plan for it. Empty the cabinet so we have room to work.

Garbage Disposal Installation near Alamo Ranch and Westover Hills

Newer kitchens in Alamo Ranch, Hunters Ranch and Potranco Ranch often have deep single-bowl or island sinks, and the wall drain is mounted high. A tall disposal can sit lower than that drain, which means a pool of dirty water and a sour smell. We measure first and choose a unit that fits.

Garbage Disposal Installation FAQ

How much horsepower do I need?

Light cooking is fine with half horsepower. Bigger families do better with three quarter or one. More power means finer grinding and fewer jams.

Will a disposal hurt my septic system?

Pick a septic-rated model and keep food waste light, and it can work fine.

What do you do with the old unit?

We take it away for you.
