Shower Repair in San Antonio, TX

Drips that never stop, water that flips from hot to cold, a handle that spins loose. We usually fix it through the trim opening and leave your tile alone.

Why this happens

A single cartridge inside the wall blends your hot and cold. Mineral scale grinds at it and stiffens the balancing piece meant to protect you from scalding. So the water jumps when the washing machine fills, or it keeps dripping after you turn the handle off. Poor spray is usually a clogged showerhead or a jammed restrictor. Water appearing on a ceiling below, or along a nearby baseboard, is a bigger concern. That could be the valve body, the drain seal or a cracked pan.

What our crew checks

  1. Valve ID

Brand read from the trim so the right cartridge comes in with us.

  2. Swing test

We run a nearby fixture and see how the shower responds.

  3. Head and arm

Taken off and inspected for scale buildup or a cracked arm.

  4. Drain seal

We flood the drain area to see if the gasket is the real leak.

  5. Access behind

Looking for a panel or closet wall that could save tile.

Ways we can fix it

Option 1

Cartridge swap

Drips or swings in a valve body that is still good.

Option 2

Spray fixes

Clogged head, leaky arm, or a diverter that sticks.

Option 3

Valve body

Corroded or obsolete valve, replaced through an access panel when possible.

While you wait for us

Quick tip from the crewFor a drip that will not quit, you can turn the house water off overnight, or use the access panel shutoffs if your shower has them. Pay attention to what makes the temperature jump and tell us when you call.

Out here on the west side

Shower Repair near Alamo Ranch and Westover Hills

Lots of far west side homes share the same few builder valves, so those cartridges ride on our truck. Homes near Lackland and along Military Dr are often older, and their valves can take some hunting, but we know which ones still have parts. Wherever you live out here, our water scales up showerheads and cartridges quicker than the box promises.

Shower Repair FAQ

Flush a toilet and my shower goes cold. What is that?

The balancing part of the cartridge is worn. Swapping the cartridge normally solves it.

Does fixing the valve mean ripping out tile?

Rarely. Most repairs happen through the trim hole. Replacing the whole valve body may need a way in from the back.

My showerhead drips a little. Is that a problem?

Not an emergency, but it wastes water nonstop and the cartridge keeps wearing.
